BCA Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry provides a full continuum of behavioral and educational services to the youth of central Ohio and surrounding areas.
Through the influence of principles of the Collaborative Problem Solving model (CPS), we teach children how to recognize their triggers and problem-solve to produce a different outcome. This unique model is utilized by all staff and taught to each client.
It is our belief that all children will do well if they can. The reason they have continued to struggle is because they lack the cognitive skill set in one or more of the three areas:
1. Flexibility/adaptability
2. Emotional regulation
3. Problem-solving

Referrals and Admission
Referrals for admission to the Diagnostic Evaluation Center come from a variety of sources including, but not limited to, psychiatrists or other physicians, therapists, social service workers, parents or family members and managed care carriers. Each referral is assessed by the admission specialist and seen by a physician to determine recommendation for treatment. Discharge planning is initiated at the time of admission and revised during the child’s impatient stay. The discharge plan includes recommendations for further treatment, follow-up activities and medication management.
